The announcement by His Royal Highness Prince Mohammad bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Crown Prince, and Prime Minister, launching ‘Riyadh Air’ as the new national air carrier is part of the leadership’s endeavor for major projects in all cities of the Kingdom and contributes to further boosting the economy and achieving Saudi Vision 2030 goals.
On this occasion, His Excellency Fahd Al-Rasheed, CEO of the Royal Commission for Riyadh City, said: “The launch of Riyadh Air, the new national air carrier, is a reinforcement of the Kingdom’s position as a global logistics hub and accentuates the importance of Riyadh city as a global meeting point. The naming of the new national air carrier after the Capital shines the spotlight on Riyadh and contributes to enhancing the city’s global competitiveness and its position as one of the largest city economies in the world as it also integrates with major projects in Riyadh such as King Salman International Airport.”
His Excellency Al-Rasheed added: “Riyadh Air will connect more than 100 destinations around the world by the year 2030, enhancing the capital’s investment environment and increasing its attractiveness for international companies and talent from all over the world.”
Riyadh will be new airline’s operations hub and the starting point for all flights. Its establishment comes in line with the Public Investment Fund’s strategy to unleash the potential of promising sectors locally to support the diversification of the economy.
