The Royal Commission for Riyadh City (RCRC) issued a decision lifting the suspension of development activities at large areas of the endowed lands, north of King Salman Road (areas marked red in the map). The decision allows planning, development, sale, purchase, and other services in these areas, which must be fully compliant with the requirements of Riyadh Urban Code.
The step is part of a series of measures aimed at helping the city accommodate twice the current population by 2030. RCRC said that Riyadh’s strategy is expected to qualify the capital to be ranked among the world’s top 100 cities in terms of economy, competitiveness, and quality of life by 2030.
The decision included many aspects that aim to develop the infrastructure and support the provision of residential and tourist uses in a way that contributes to promoting the city’s attractiveness, regulating the urban environment, taking care of the heritage aspects, and addressing the relevant violations.
A special committee has been formed to tackle land affairs and the RCRC has also launched a call center (Dial: 8001240800) for better interaction with the public.
