A high-level delegation from the National Defense College in New Delhi visited the headquarters of the Royal Commission for Riyadh City here on Wednesday, 30 August 2023.
The Indian delegation, on an official visit to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, was received by Engineer Abdulaziz bin Abdulmohsen Al-Ghannam, Senior Director General of the General Department of Urban Security and Crisis Management at RCRC.
During the Indian delegation’s visit, RCRC officials made a presentation on the growth and development of Riyadh and the ongoing mega projects in the capital city to achieve the objectives of Saudi Arabia’s transformative roadmap of Vision 2030
The delegation was informed about Green Riyadh, one of the most ambitious urban forestry projects with an objective to plant more than 7.5 million trees in the city of Riyadh. The Indian officials also learnt about RCRC’s King Abdulaziz Public Transport Project, a public transport network of metro trains and buses to transform Riyadh into an interconnected city. This project will provide integrated solutions for public transport for current and future residents and visitors.
RCRC officials also informed the visiting delegation about RCRC’s International Schools Attraction Program that brings prestigious international schools. The program, in partnership with the Ministry of Investment and the Ministry of Education, aims to enhance the capital city’s school education landscape and provide world-class learning and teaching opportunities. So far, the program has attracted seven international schools to the capital city.
