In partnership with the Saudi Space Commission, the Ministry of Education, the King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology (KACST) and the King Salman Science Oasis, the Royal Commission for Riyadh City is launching the “Riyadh Space Fair” this Sunday, January 22 at the King Salman Science Oasis on King Abdullah Road, Al-Raed neighborhood, and will last until February 20, 2023.
Under the theme “Humanity and Space”, the Fair offers live interactive displays to educate visitors of all ages about space science and discoveries. It explores the relationship between humanity and the universe, while revealing some space secrets throughout history. Visitors will get to know more about human missions to space, and how they shaped a new understanding of our universe.
The Fair comprises eight stations for live experiences full of fun, adventure, and a wealth of information. Visitors will be able to learn about the development of astronomy, cosmology, modern scientific theories, and the nature of the universe, through entertaining & informative games, interactive simulators — like the experience of “Walk on Mars” — as well as experimenting with techniques used to study the universe, such as telescopes, satellites and others. Visitors will also learn about space and its secrets in an interactive environment, and will be able to get answers to all their questions about space.
“Riyadh Space Fair is one of the initiatives of the Royal Commission for Riyadh City to organize activities combining scientific and recreational aspects. The Fair will also contribute to enriching the scientific and cultural knowledge of Riyadh residents and visitors, while providing growth and job opportunities in that industry, in line with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 goals,” commented Arch. Khalid Al-Hazani, Head of the Riyadh Life Sector at the Royal Commission for Riyadh City.
Space Science is one the most important topics attracting large numbers of visitors from different ages, but mainly from the young generation. The first edition of the Riyadh Space Fair will offer all visitors the chance to learn more about the science of space, and to live innovative, educational, and entertaining experiences rich in information, where fresh talent will be discovered, paving the way for Saudi Arabia’s ambition to pursue scientific leadership in this area.
The Fair opens daily from 10 am to 10 pm. Visitors can book their Space Fair tickets through the official website.
