The High Commission for the Development of Arriyadh (HCDR) briefed key metropolitan projects to Riyadh Regional Council, whose members visited the headquarters of the High Commission for the Development of Arriyadh (HCDR) upon the directions of HRH Prince Faisal bin Bandar, Governor of Riyadh and Chairman of the High Commission for the Development of Arriyadh (HCDR).
Mr. Abdulaziz bin Abdulmalik Al-Asheikh, Arriyadh Development Authority (ADA) Vice President for Studies and Planning, received the officials of Riyadh Regional Council including Secretary-General Engr. Khaled bin Abdullah Al-Rabiah and other council members.
The delegation watched a video presentation on Riyadh Regional Plan which is developed by the High Commission in coordination with Region’s Council and many private & public bodies. The plan aims to spread and balance development activities in the Region and guide future development trends in all sectors of the region.
During the visit, the delegation was also briefed on the High Commission’s plans and programs, particularly the Metropolitan Development Strategy for the Arriyadh Region (MEDSTAR), which guides and orchestrates all future activities of urban development in all sectors of the city. They also explored the key metropolitan development plans, projects and programs carried out by HCDR.
The delegation also watched a video presentation on King Abdulaziz Project for Riyadh Public Transport (Metro & Buses), that aims to establish a sustainable, scalable and integrated metropolitan public transport system that is consists of 6 lines spanning a total length of 176 kilometers, 85 stations and 22-line bus network spanning a total length of 1200 kilometers.
The delegation then discussed the future plans and mutual coordination mechanism with ADA officials.
