On May 8, 2017, HRH Prince Muhammad bin Abdulrahman bin Abdul Aziz, Vice-Chairman of the High Commission for the Development of Arriyadh (HCDR), visited HCDR’s headquarters, at the Diplomatic Quarter, and was received by HE Engr. Ibrahim Al-Sultan, member of the High Commission for Development of Arriyadh and President of Arriyadh Development Authority (ADA), and ADA senior officials.
At the beginning of the visit, HRH was briefed on the HCDR’s achievements, plans and programs in the fields of urban, economic, social and cultural development, in addition to environmental management and protection, transportation, housing, and public utilities and services.
HRH Prince Muhammad bin Abdulrahman then watched a video presentation on the Metropolitan Development Strategy for the Arriyadh Region (MEDSTAR), which guides and orchestrates all future activities of urban development in all sectors of the city through 100 projects and programs and dozens of execution policies that conform to Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030.
The HCDR’s Vice-Chairman also watched a presentation on the “Riyadh Regional Plan” which is developed by the High Commission in coordination with Region’s Council and many private & public bodies. The plan aims to spread and balance development activities in the Region and guide future development trends in all sectors of the region, in addition to promoting the economic value and investment attractiveness of its governorates.
After that, HRH watched a presentation shedding light on King Abdul Aziz Project for Riyadh Public Transport (Metro & Buses), which represents a core contribution to the city’s urban and economic future.
At the end of the visit, HRH HCDR’s Vice-Chairman, expressed his pleasure with HCDR’s plans, projects and programs that have significantly enhanced the city and served its people, noting that the city is reaping the fruits of the efforts of its “pioneering engineer”, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdul Aziz.
He also commended the great official support and care received by Riyadh Region, and all regions of the Kingdom, under the wise leadership of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdul Aziz, may Allah support him, His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Naif bin Abdul Aziz, Crown Prince, Deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister, and His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdul Aziz, the Second Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of defense, May Allah protect them.
Similarly, he praised the wise leadership and vision of HRH Prince Faisal bin Bandar bin Abdul Aziz, chairman of the High Commission for the Development of Arriyadh, whose efforts resulted in prompting the city of Riyadh and serving its residents.
