On May 15, 2017, HRH Prince Faisal Bin Bandar, Chairman of High Commission for the Development of Arriyadh (HCDR), inaugurated four environmental and recreational projects carried out by the HCDR, south of Riyadh city, as part of its environmental rehabilitation program of Wadi Hanifa tributary valleys. In a statement to the press, HRH Prince Faisal bin Bandar said, “I raise thanks and appreciation to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, may Allah protect him, who initiated the rehabilitation program of Wadi Hanifa valley, transforming it into a national and metropolitan landmark. I also commend the efforts of the HCDR in the development and rehabilitation of Wadi Hanifa and its tributary valleys.”
HRH Prince Faisal also pointed out that the development programs of the remaining tributaries of Wadi Hanifa are underway to attract more private investments. He also called on the visitors to enjoy and preserve these environmental and recreational sites.
Upon his arrival at the site of Wadi Namar Lakeside Park, HRH, chairman of HCDR, was received by HRH Prince Muhammad bin Abdulrahman bin Abdul Aziz, Vice-Chairman of HCDR, HE Engr. Ibrahim bin Muhammad Al-Sultan, member of the HCDR and President of Arriyadh Development Authority (ADA), H.E. Engr. Tariq bin Abdul Aziz Al-Faris, Deputy Minister of Municipal and Rural Affairs, members of HCDR and the High Committee for Environment Protection in Riyadh and ADA senior officials.

At the beginning of the visit, HRH Prince Faisal bin Bandar toured the area overlooking Namar Dam Lake, and inspected the 260,000-m2 project’s components, facilities and services that include:
HRH also inaugurated a waterfall running from the top of the valley to Namar Dam Lake, with a flow rate of 400 liters of water per second.

After that, HRH prince Faisal bin Bandar toured parts of the Wadi Namar Environmental Rehabilitation Project and visited Namar Dam Lake Corniche. HRH then inaugurated the environmental rehabilitation programs of Wadi Obeir, Wadi Al-Mahdiyah and Wadi Al-Batha, which have been recently completed by the High Commission for the Development of Arriyadh (HCDR), as part of its environmental rehabilitation program of Wadi Hanifa tributary valleys.
