On 14 November 2018, HRH Prince Faisal bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz, Chairman of the Riyadh Development Authority (RDA) and Chairman of the Supervisory Committee for King Abdulaziz Public Transport Project in Riyadh, sponsored the announcement ceremony of a number of Riyadh Metro stations’ naming rights tender, in the presence of HRH Prince Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Abdulaziz, Vice Chairman of the RDA.
In a statement to the press, HRH Prince Faisal praised the RDA for handling the tender and announcing its results in such a professional and transparent way that promotes and boosts the fruitful partnership with the key private sector entities working in the city.
HE CEO of the Riyadh Development Authority, Engr. Tariq Bin Abdulaziz Al-Faris, announced the results of the tender and names of the successful bidders as follows:
One billion Saudi riyals revenues
HE RDA CEO said that, out of the project’s 85 stations, a number of major economic entities have been awarded 10-year naming rights contracts of only 8 stations, with a total revenues of one billion and forty five million Saudi riyals. This step seeks to maximize the project’s revenues, sustain and develop its services, reduce the operational costs and contribute to the achievement of Saudi Vision 2030 goals through promotion of metropolitan economic infrastructure and quality of life.
HE also pointed out that this tender offers a rare opportunity for major private sector entities to widely promote their products, services and brands.
A full package of benefits and facilitations
Winning the naming rights of the metro stations allows the winning entities to get invaluable exposure to all the users of the project, whether through billboards, advertisements, maps, publications issued by the project, retail outlets, or the project website and its social media accounts.
These stations were chosen due to their strategic locations and high number of boarding passengers, HE explained.
At the end of the ceremony, HRH RDA Chairman unveiled the map of the Riyadh metro stations and presented the honorary shields to representatives of the winning entities.
