On July 20, 2016, HRH Prince Faisal Bin Bandar, Chairman of the High Commission for the Development of Arriyadh, chaired a reviewed meeting on ADA’s preparations for (Day in Riyadh) event to be held at the UN Headquarters in New York from 26 to 30 September 2016 in conjunction with the 71st regular session of the UN General Assembly.
The event seeks to highlight the development journey in the city of Riyadh, and its leading role, in addition to boosting cooperation and partnership between ADA and the UN experts, agencies and development programs.
The event showcases how Riyadh achieved its development goals, and highlights the city’s strategic projects, especially King Abdulaziz Project for Riyadh Public Transport (Metro & Buses).
The event also sheds light on the current and future development challenges faced by the city through a series of workshops, symposia, and sessions that focus on developmental aspects relevant to UN programs, such as urban planning and management, transport, as well as development of the social, cultural, environmental, and tourist sectors of the city.
Furthermore, the event’s program includes an exhibition about Riyadh featuring pavilions, video shows, and 3D models that highlight the key achievements, challenges, programs, projects in the city.
During the event, a documentary, prepared by ADA, would be shown to highlight Riyadh’s development journey.
