On July 28, 2016, a team of “Live Saudi Arabia Program”, organized by the Saudi Commission for Tourism and Antiquities, visited the tunnel of Riyadh Metro’s Red Line as part of ADA’s plan to spread awareness about King Abdulaziz Public Transport Project in Riyadh, and the benefits it offers to the city and its residents.
The delegation met a number of the officials working in the project, and watched a video presentation that briefed them on the project’s main components including its 176 km-long six lines, 85 stations, parking lots, tunnels, bridges, boarding and maintenance stations, and control and operation center.
Later, the delegation visited the Red Line’s 2000-meter-long tunnel and explored its components.
The Red Line runs along King Abdullah Road, between King Saud University and King Fahd International Stadium. It extends over a length of about 25 km and features 13 stations.
