Souq Al-Zal and Dukhna Square Enhancement Program
The program carried out by the Royal Commission for Riyadh City, aims to raise the urban level of the Souq to the level of its surrounding area of Qasr Al-Hukm. Besides maintaining commercial and heritage market activities and its role as one of the preferred destinations for residents and visitors of Riyadh.
Souq Al-Zal is located in the confined area between Medina Road South, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulwahab Street West and Sheikh Mohammed bin Ibrahim Al Sheikh Street East, with an area of about 39 m2.

A Popular Commercial Destination
The market has retained its commercial value until now, is the largest cluster of shops selling men’s clothing, heritage tools, antiques, traditional shoes, and oriental perfume shops, as well as organizing auctions to sell precious traditional vintage items and collectibles, making the market an important destination for residents and visitors.
Development Project
Souq Al-Zal Development Project has contributed to emphasizing its importance and excellence at the city level, developing its working environment, by removing negatives from its surroundings, facilitating attractions for shoppers and visitors by paving the roads, providing parking and service installations, improving the visual environment, encouraging owners to develop their properties in the market, and expanding their business.
The project included the removal of the remains of rundown mud buildings around the market area, the reorganization of infrastructure, the development of industrial and natural lighting aspects of its roads, organization of shop panels, improvement of market fronts and roofs, organization of its entrances overlooking the surrounding streets.
The project confirmed the linking of the market to its surroundings in the side of the General Court, Sheikh Mohammed bin Ibrahim Al-Sheikh mosque and Dukha Square, which witnessed a comprehensive development on one hand, and the squares of the Qasr Al-Hukm area and Al-Thumairi Street on the other one.
