According to Royal Decree No. A/312, dated 09/04/1441H, under “Organizational arrangement”, the geographic scope of RCRC “is determined by the limits of protection of development for Riyadh city, and what the Board of Directors determine from places outside its borders which are linked to the commission’s objectives, functions, and missions”. The area of development protection in Riyadh City is 5,960 km².

What is the Riyadh Public Transport ticket cost?
Riyadh Public Transport project offers different options depending on your needs, including:
First Class Tickets:
- 2-hour pass, with the price of 10 SAR *
- 3-day pass, with the price of 50 SAR *
- 7-day pass, with the price of 100 SAR *
- 30-day pass, with the price of 350 SAR *
Regular Tickets:
- 2-hour pass, with the price of 4 SAR *
- 3-day pass, with the price of 20 SAR *
- 7-day pass, with the price of 40 SAR *

Children 6 years of age or younger travel for free.
* The pass validity starts upon activating the ticket, or activating the digital ticket on the Darb app. To note, the pass tickets expire at the end of the operational day.
How do I pay for the fare?
- You can purchase a “Darb” card, from the Ticket Vending Machine or Ticket Sales Office. The “Darb” card is a reusable digital wallet you purchase once for 10 SAR, and you add funds to it at the same machines.
- You can use your contactless bank debit or credit card or a payment-enabled smart device at the reader device.
- You can purchase a digital ticket using the Darb app for Android and iOS.
What accessibility features are available for passengers with impaired mobility?
Accessibility features for passengers with impaired mobility include:
- Elevator Access: Elevators provide access to all metro station levels.
- Wide Ticket Gates: Designed for easy passage, along with special ticket counters to assist users.
- Platform Screen Doors: These doors are wide enough to accommodate wheelchair users when boarding or alighting from trains.
Who is eligible for a discount or concession?
The following categories of people are eligible for a 50% discount on all fares upon the first issuance of a registered Darb card at any ticket office provided they satisfy the validation requirements with the necessary documentation:
- Public education students (6-18 years): National ID or Iqama and a valid student ID card issued by a KSA university or school (or a letter)
- Seniors (60 years and above): National ID or Iqama
- Persons with disabilities (plus one companion): National ID or Iqama and proof of disability
- Cancer patients (plus one companion): National ID or Iqama and an approved medical report
- Martyrs’ first-degree relatives: National ID or Iqama and or proof from relevant government authority

Can I eat or drink on the Bus or Metro?
For the safety and wellbeing of the passengers and to maintain bus and train cleanliness, eating or drinking are not permitted. Any food and drinks you bring on board must be in a closed container that is spill-proof.
Is there a family section?
Yes, there are designated family seats at the front of the buses.
What is the Dedicated Bus Lane service?
The Dedicated Bus Lane service is one of “Riyadh bus” services designed to lessen interaction between buses and other vehicles on the road, through dedicated lanes. The dedicated lanes are marked in red and are accessed only by the dedicated Riyadh buses.
The service starts on King Abdulaziz Road and Salahuddin Al Ayubi Road for BRT 11, and on Khalid Bin Alwaleed Road for BRT 13.You can reach the Dedicated Bus Lane service station by crossing pedestrian bridges that are equipped with stairs and elevators or by using pedestrian crossings. Once you reach the station, you should activate the platform screen doors only when the bus has stopped at the platform and opened its doors.

What is Public Transport Oriented Development (TOD)?
RCRC agreed in its second meeting for the year 1439H, to consider the sites surrounding public transport stations within a range of 800 meters as ” areas for development directed to public transport ” subject to regulations, controls, special requirements, and incentives for development. The initiative to develop these sites is called Public Transport Oriented Development (TOD).
The TOD program will create high-density and mixed-use areas (residential, office, commercial, service, recreational) near the metro stations; and provide an attractive urban environment that enhances the quality of public spaces and improves access to public transport.

How to submit development applications for areas within the scope of public transport-oriented development (TOD)?
- Interested parties are invited to submit an official letter addressed to the Director of Public Transport Development Department containing the type of development request (i.e., modifying use, increasing the number of roles, exempting several positions, etc.).
- Copy of Land Deed.
- Aerial photo showing the distance between the public transport station and the project site.
- Copy of the owner’s ID, or a copy of the commercial register if the owner is a company or institution.
- Cadastral decision for new projects and the license for existing projects.
- Project plans – general site, plans of all architectural floors, façades, sectors, and binoculars.

What is Riyadh Art?
Riyadh Art is one of Riyadh’s four megaprojects launched by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz, to contribute to the transformation of Riyadh into an open art gallery that blends tradition and modernity, launching new horizons for the local and international creative movement in the city, attracting artists, specialists and those interested in art from all over the world, as well as promoting societal values, cultural interaction, knowledge exchange, creative cooperation, boosting creative industries, and stimulating the city’s tourism and entertainment offering.
The project includes installation of more than 1,000 works and art landmarks created by local and international artists in public areas throughout the city of Riyadh. What is the Regional Headquarters Attraction Program for International Companies?
The Regional Headquarters Attraction Program for International Companies is a joint initiative between RCRC and the Ministry of Investment and it aims to attract and secure 480 international companies into locating their regional headquarters in the Kingdom.
The initiative will create approximately 30,000 jobs, and contribute about SAR 67 billion (18 billion US dollars) to the local economy by 2030.
