On April 11, 2017, HRH Prince Faisal Bin Bandar, Chairman of the High Commission for the Development of Arriyadh, chaired the High Commission’s Second meeting of 1439H in the presence of HRH Prince Muhammad bin Abdulrahman bin Abdulaziz, Vice-Chairman of the High Commission for the Development of Arriyadh.
According to H.E. Engr. Tariq Al-Faris, the High Commission’s member and President of Arriyadh Development Authority (ADA), the meeting approved a decision considering the areas adjacent to the public transport stations, within 800 meters, as “Public Transport Regulated Development Areas,” supervised by the High Commission under special regulations.
The meeting also approved the general regulations, conditions and incentives for the “Public Transport Regulated Development Areas”.
Approval of a coordinative program for public service provision in the city of Riyadh
The meeting also approved the “Program for Public Service Provision in the City of Riyadh”, as a reference program for the concerned metropolitan public service providers.
The program aims to develop a methodology for coordinating and monitoring the city-wide development activities of public services. It also incorporates a “Land Bank” which documents all public service lands and the relevant information including the location and ownership to assess the future needs.
The meeting also agreed to amend the regulations for merging and dividing lots on commercial streets.
Commercial projects, hotels and auto service zone
In the same vein, the meeting approved the requests for amendments to the building regulations submitted by a number of private sector entities, notably:
1. Al Khozama Management Company Ltd.: The company will develop the Al Faisaliah Commercial and Residential Complex, within a project that covers an area of nearly 41,000 m2.
2. Aqalat Limited Company (a subsidiary of Saudi Telecom Company): The company will develop the southern section of the Saudi Telecom Complex. The project includes construction of an office, residential, commercial and hotel complex over an area of approximately 135,000 m2.
3. Rimal Real Estate Company: The company will develop an integrated project to serve the automotive sector and provide a wide-range of auto services including sale, display, events and others on an area of 1.1 million m2.
4. Dur Hospitality Company: The company will expand the Courtyard Hotel in Al Hada Neighborhood, Riyadh, over about 20,000 m2.
5. A recreational hotel resort project located in Al Rimal Neighborhood along the Al Takhassusi-Al Thumamah road over an area of about 24,000 m2.
6. Rehab Najd Real Estate Company: The company will establish an integrated commercial residential complex over an area of nearly 186,000 m2 in Al Kairawan Neighborhood.
