On April 23, 2019, HRH Prince Faisal bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz, chairman of the Council of Riyadh Development Authority (RDA), opened the RDA’s “Book Bazaar” project at Al-Adl square, Qasr al-Hukm District, in the presence of HRH Prince Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Abdulaziz, Vice Chairman of the RDA Council.
On his arrival to the location, HRH Prince Faisal toured the project’s components, bookshops and sections, and was then briefed on the World Book Day activities held at the site.
HRH also visited the “Cultural Forum” tent that hosts cultural events organized by the King Abdulaziz Public Library.
In a statement to the press, HRH said that the project reflects the vision of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz, regarding the development of the Qasr Al-Hukm area, and comes in line with the directives of HRH Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Crown Prince, Vice President of the Council of Ministers and Defense Minister, to promote the culture in the light of “Vision 2030”.
HRH Prince Faisal also called on the residents and visitors of the city of Riyadh to visit this cultural destination, which will cater to the growing demand for books and host several cultural events.
According to HE CEO of Riyadh Development Authority, Engr. Tariq bin Abdulaziz Al-Faris, the “Book Bazaar” project is part of the RDA’s efforts to promote the Qasr al-Hukm District as an administrative, cultural and commercial center in the heart of the city of Riyadh.
The Bazaar hosts 14 outlets for libraries and publishing houses, two cafes, in addition to seating and reading areas, and its site is equipped to host various cultural events and activities, he added.
