HRH Prince Faisal bin Bandar patronizes Riyadh’s official Eid Al-Fitr celebration
HRH Prince Faisal bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz, chairman of the Council of Riyadh Development Authority (RDA), patronized Riyadh’s official Eid celebrations, organized by the RDA at Qasr Al-Hukm plazas throughout the three days of Eid Al-Fitr (1440H).
Upon his arrival, HRH Prince Faisal bin Bandar was received by HE CEO of Riyadh Development Authority, Engr. Tariq bin Abdulaziz Al-Faris, RDA senior officials and group of Riyadh residents.
On this occasion, HRH Prince Faisal bin Bandar extended the warmest congratulations on behalf of the residents of Riyadh Province to Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and HRH Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz.
The celebrations’ program this year is comprehensive, and features many family-friendly activities at different locations including:
The Main Theater in Al-Adl Square, which hosts cultural and traditional events, in addition to folkloric shows and carnival performances
Al-Masmak Plaza, which hosts a wide variety of entertaining programs and contests for children.
Al-Masmak Palace Walls, which hosts a 3D-show that tells the story of the restoration of Riyadh.
Thumairi Avenue, which hosts live shows, food trucks and mobile cafes.
The events accompanying this year’s festivities provide a venue where tradition and modernity blend perfectly. The traditional events this year include the henna art platforms, and the “Huwamah” activity, that is inspired by an old Eid tradition, where a group of children used to roam the neighbors’ homes to receive the Eidia (a gift that is usually given to by elder relatives, family friends and neighbors as part of the celebration of the two Muslim holidays, Eid Al-Fitr and Eid Al-Adha).
