On June 19, 2019, HRH Prince Faisal bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz, chairman of the Council of Riyadh Development Authority (RDA), chaired RDA’s third meeting of 1440H.
Investment opportunities
HE CEO of Riyadh Development Authority, Engr. Tariq bin Abdulaziz Al-Faris said that the meeting was briefed on the progress achieved thus far regarding the implementation of RDA’s earlier decision approving the architectural plans of 10 main/secondary entrances to the city of Riyadh.
“The meeting also recognized the three entrances on the Dammam, Qassim and Diraab roads as priority locations giving a green light to offering them as investment opportunities to the private sector,” Engr. Al-Faris added.
SAR 3 billion medical facilities
The meeting approved requests to set up hospitals and a medical city with a total value of SAR 3.1 billion. The new facilities will have a combined capacity of 1,900 beds. A new 1200-bed medical city will be built in Binban neighborhood over a total area of 300,000 square meters. Also, a 400-bed hospital will be developed in Al Narjis neighborhood, in addition to another 300-bed infertility/IVF hospital in Hittin neighborhood.
RDA also approved the set-up of a four-star hotel with a total capacity of 250 rooms.
Approval of the comprehensive plan for the Al Daghm waste processing site
The meeting approved the outputs of the master plan for waste processing and disposal site in Al Daghm area, 75 km east of Riyadh city, to serve as a reference and guide for the final design of the facility and future investments therein.
The meeting entrusted the Riyadh Municipality to develop the site’s operational and investment model with the participation of the private sector and in coordination with the National Center for Waste Management and the PIF-owned Saudi Investment Recycling Company (SIRC).
Accelerated measures to address critical environment issues in southern Riyadh
The meeting directed all concerned agencies to accelerate their measures to address the critical environment issues in 11 locations south of Riyadh.
Air quality report – 2018
The meeting was also briefed on the results of the 2018 air quality report, which evaluates the air quality in the city of Riyadh based on an analysis of 8.8 million readings registered by specialized stations deployed throughout the city. The report revealed that the percentage of gaseous pollutants ranged between “very good” and “excellent”, except for the concentration of suspended particles, which ranged from “good” to “excellent.”
