On 21/01/2016, Lord Mayor of London, Jeffrey Evans, visited headquarters of the High Commission for the Development of Arriyadh, at the Diplomatic Quarter, and was received by Engr. Tarek bin Abdulaziz Al-Faris, ADA Vice President, and a group of ADA officials.
During the visit, the Lord Mayor of London listened to a welcome speech by Engr. Tariq Al-Faris, and then watched a documentary about the High Commission, its plans and programs, particularly the Metropolitan Development Strategy for the Arriyadh Region (MEDSTAR), which guides and orchestrates urban development activities in all sectors of the city. He also explored the key metropolitan development plans, projects and programs being carried out by the High Commission for the Development of Arriyadh.
The Lord Mayor also watched a video presentation that shed light on King Abdulaziz Project for Riyadh Public Transport (Metro & Buses) and its great benefits to the city and its residents.
The delegation was also briefed on the land uses plan and the development regulations for the surroundings of metro and bus stations, which have been developed by the High Commission to guide the future development activities along the project’s lines and stations, and to promote integration between the public transport network and its vicinity.
At the end of the visit, Lord Mayor of London expressed his pleasure with ADA’s plans, projects and programs that have significantly enhanced the city of Riyadh and improved life quality for its residents.
