Lake Namar Views Park Project

RCRC has established a program for the environmental rehabilitation of the tributary valleys of Wadi Hanifa, which aims to rehabilitate and develop these tributaries and turn them into attractive natural recreation areas. One of the axes of this program was represented in the development of Wadi Namar.

Within this axis, and after completing the works of the first phase of the environmental rehabilitation project for Namar Valley and opening the Namar Valley Dam Park, RCRC commenced work on the Namar Lake Views Park project which covers an area of 260,000m2.

Project features

The project included equipment, facilities, and services in the implementation of a 2.5km road, the construction of car parks that can accommodate 500 cars, the paving of pedestrian paths of 4km, in addition to equipping the site with 140 designated areas for picnickers, and the construction of four arenas for practicing various sports.

Additionally, the project features two areas for children’s games, four toilets, in addition to lighting works, landscaping with planting of 1,211 trees and shrubs. A waterfall was also built at the site, the waters of which flow from the upper reaches of the valley towards Lake Namar Dam, with a water capacity of 400 liters per second.

Project opening

On Monday, Shaaban 19, 1438 AH, His Royal Highness Prince Faisal bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz, Governor of Riyadh Region, in the presence of His Royal Highness Prince Muhammad bin Abdul Rahman bin Abdulaziz, Deputy Governor of Riyadh Region, inaugurated the project to develop the area overlooking Lake Namar Dam along with environmental rehabilitation projects in the valley’s tributary to Wadi Hanifa.
