Based on the commission’s interest in preserving parts of the city that have significant heritage value, and in view of the importance of historical Diriyah, the Commission participated in the implementation of a project to develop Old Diriyah. This book highlights the work involved in progressing this project in the areas of urban design, service facilities and others.

It also addresses post-project phases, which include the restoration of expropriated houses in proposed heritage areas, the implementation of road networks, pedestrian lanes, open squares, parking and utility systems, the preparation of designs and implementation documents for heritage areas and the preparation of construction regulations for residential and commercial uses.
