The Royal Commission for Riyadh City (RCRC) has issued the Accessibility Code for Riyadh City, a comprehensive regulatory framework that defines the standards and requirements for ensuring inclusive access for individuals with diverse disabilities, including mobility, visual, auditory, cognitive, and temporary impairments. Developed in alignment with leading local and international standards and best practices, the code is designed to facilitate seamless integration of accessibility features into both existing and future developments, thereby mitigating the need for costly retrofits. It provides detailed technical specifications for critical accessibility features within and around built environments – including parking facilities, ramps, external stairways, entrances, doors, elevators, and restrooms – ensuring compliance with internationally recognized principles and optimizing usability for all individuals with disabilities.
